Reflection 2:
This was a great lesson to start with, as the kids (even after
our 2 week break, so 2 week gap between the first reading of the book) had a
great recall of the events that happened in the first half of the book. This was
all before we started the lesson, and they were really keen to find out what
happened to the Bernstain family and their health issues.
The activity was great where they got to get up and do a bit
of physical activity. We chose to go outside as the morning had been beautiful,
unfortunately half way through our activity the wind started to pick up which
made it a bit difficult to complete the jigsaw. So we moved inside to complete.
In doing this lesson with the jigsaw I would look at where I had cut the jigsaw
as I think for this level I had made it a bit too hard for them to put
together.
Because of the disruption with the wind, we lost a bit of
time, so we had a quick discussion on what we had learned for the day which
they were all able to give one comment.
