I grew up on the East Coast of the North Island, mainly in
Gisborne, I was surrounded by the ocean which with the guidance of my Dad (who
also loves the water) I was involved in Swimming and Surf Lifesaving. I love
fresh fruit and veg which I learnt was how I would be able to train and compete
in Swimming and Surf Lifesaving, giving my body the best nutrients. Although I
do have a very big sweet tooth, and my favourite chocolate is Whittaker’s Almond
Gold, oh so creamy and delicioso!! Which in moderation is ok....
In 2008 I had my daughter Millie, she will no doubt have the
same taste for Almond Gold as I think I devoured far too many (big) blocks of
it while pregnant, poor child has no chance! But she also loves the water, and
I hope to teach her the joys but also to be very respectful of the power that
the ocean and that water in general has.
Throughout my life I have been involved in social and
competitive sport, I love to watch it, coach it, participate in it, officiate
it so mainly just to be involved with any aspect of it. I completed the
Bachelor in Sport and Leisure Studies here at the University of Waikato and I
am also completing currently the Graduate Diploma in Primary Teaching. I have a
bit of knowledge in the Physical Education side of HPE but not so much the
Health side, so I will hopefully gain this during my training year and then when out
in the field.

Ohhhhhh Almond Gold! My fave! Everything in moderation!
